Only one story taking our breath away today and that is this!
We were approached right back at the start of WSO by Wayne Sables of Flightcase Films, an experienced documentary film maker, who immediately saw the potential in what we were up to and thought it would make a damn fine subject for a doc. We were naturally delighted but uncertain as to how the process would work. Wayne has gone out of his way to plot and scheme his way through it and we are DELIGHTED to announce we have a green light.
What we need is YOU.
Wayne’s idea is to film as much as he can himself, but to also collect film from other events around the country and mash it all up with footage of interviews with those involved together with a bit of background on why we feel this is necessary. We need as many of you as possible to find the ways and means of recording your events on film, not just performances but backstage footage, ONstage footage, crowd footage, food bank stall footage….as much as you can record we need. Wayne will then pick and choose the best and edit into the final documentary which he will look to find distribution for as well as running it as pay-per-view on the internet.
Don’t panic. Your footage need not be cinema quality, in fact the difference in quality between the recordings will help give the film the street-level feel he is after. Wayne does state he needs all film in ‘Landscape’ for the purposes of working it all together.
This is INCREDIBLE news and we can’t thank Wayne enough for his vision here. As a ground-up movement we have seen little or no help from above and nor would it have been welcome, but thanks to people like him and yourselves putting your faith in what we are doing, together we have made this something magical and THAT needs to be recorded.
GET IN.
