A Raised Fist & A Helping Hand

Marker Pens, Cake and Corbyn

Great news from London and the mighty Thee Faction who were central to organising a rally/fundraiser at Union Chapel in Islington last Friday featuring the man of the moment Jeremy Corbyn, Robb Johnson, Owen Jones, Phyll Opoku and Janine Booth. They spoke for five minutes on WSO and caught the imaginations of the 900 people who attended who also went home with a flier each. Top work guys. Great to hear.

WSO Liverpool have only gone and done it again! Now they have a BAKE SALE on Tuesday 1st September. Essentially you trade a donation to a WSO cause for a cake. Nothing to not like there. The event runs from 10am til they run out. Fantastic. And yet another demonstration of lateral thinking when it comes to events. THERE ARE NO RULES. IT CAN BE WHATEVER YOU WANT!

Last night I was part of a fundraiser for WSO Hull at the legendary Adelphi. There was a cracking turn out and the whole place was fired up for our weekend. They raised £234 for merch for October and that will go on to raise exponentially more. A great way of kickstarting something when you have no budget. Top work to all involved down there.

Lastly, there’s a call for people to take a selfie with #WSO written on some part of their body. They will be collected into a slide show to be screened in Liverpool. So get out those marker pens and cameras and email the results to wsoliverpool@gmail.com ……oh, and keep it clean!
