A Raised Fist & A Helping Hand

The Gift That Keeps On Giving

A weekend of late additions has given such a boost to us at WSO Central. Six new shows in four new towns! Not bad when you think how close we are to our weekend. We love this brinksmanship so keep it coming. We’ve got word out to all events yet to confirm and a handful more are looking likely contenders over the next couple of days so watch this space.

One exciting idea came from a teacher, who for reasons of professional political impartiality wishes to remain nameless,  but who from tomorrow will be encouraging her class to bring food donations for WSO. She is planning on running this right the way up to Friday 2nd October and then sending Sixth Former’s to deliver the whole lot to their local food bank as part of our weekend. An INCREDIBLE idea, a kind of secular Harvest Festival, and one it might be worth sharing with any of your teacher friends. It works on so many levels in that it not only raises donations, but it gets kids thinking about their community and helps create the next generation of WSO’ers.

Once again we salute the ideas and initiative you are bringing to us, we are constantly amazed. Many of us work dire jobs where we’re bullied and cajoled by poor managers and end up demotivated and living from day to day wishing we were anywhere else. I think what WSO demonstrates is just how much people are capable of when our heart is in our work. You have moved mountains and created something historic from nothing but an idea. Amazing,
